the context

Warwick District Council secured UK Shared Prosperity Funding to support the district’s strong creative sector. Its Arts team began a 17-month project, from September 2023 to March 2025, to coordinate marketing resources and help smaller community cultural organisations promote themselves.

the challenge

We were briefed to identify the marketing and promotional channels available to arts and cultural organisations across Warwick, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and Whitnash. Marketing knowledge varied widely, so the language had to be accessible, with a focus on free and low-cost opportunities for grassroots groups.

what we did

We built the database of resources, organised into Places to Advertise, Things to Take Part in and Marketing Support, each with useful resources and contacts. We also created an identity for the website, with section icons to make it easier to use.

the results.

  • 4 towns covered
  • 3 sections of resources and contacts
  • free for arts and cultural organisations to use

Loaded to a council-controlled platform, the toolkit can be updated as the community shares its knowledge, helping organisations grow.

As a proud advocate for our thriving arts and cultural scene in Warwick District, I am thrilled that we have been able to commission this new Marketing Toolkit. This free, dynamic resource empowers our arts and cultural organisations to amplify their marketing efforts, share knowledge, and connect with their audiences in meaningful ways.
