mobile labs branded to explain bioenergy technology to anyone.

Pyrofab mobile lab containers with information graphics

the context

The European Bioenergy Research Institute (EBRI) at Aston University needed a way to brand transportable labs that would travel around North-West Europe, evaluating sustainable sources of bioenergy.

the challenge

The two Pyrofab labs were built inside transporter containers and moved by lorry. They had to explain complex technology to visitors in a non-technical way.

what we did

We designed information graphics applied directly to the sides of the labs, kept simple, with icons for the more complex areas. Extra graphics hooked onto the containers on site, and the same look carried through the supporting literature.

the results.

  • 2 mobile labs
  • Europe travelled all over, reaching many communities
  • wider audience aware of ground-breaking technology

By branding the containers, far more people became aware of the technology.

The containers look really great and feedback from colleagues has been extremely positive. I know this was an ‘unusual’ job for you but I think the results are fantastic.
