5 Reasons I Bonded With Glued

It is commonly accepted that we don’t do business with brands or organisations, but rather with people. If anyone reading this has ever worked with Rob Harrison or David Wilson (partners at Glued Limited) then the reasons you’ve done business with them, are probably the same reasons I jumped at the opportunity to join them. So, I’ll jump right in!

  1. They’re experienced and robust. Did you know, Glued has been going for 19 years now? During that time notable events have included the Iraq war, The iPhone released to market, the global financial crisis, Brexit and Covid 19! But like a mountain that weathers every storm, Glued has continued to provide a first class branding, design and marketing service to a wide client base which benefits from their vast experience. Their longevity to date gave me confidence for the future.
  2. They’re different from other marketing companies. Rob is the consultancy partner, he specialises in qualitative research and proposition development and has helped many organisations to identify what sets them apart – laying the foundations for the most successful marketing efforts. David is the creative partner and a true master of brand development. Their three-step approach of consultation, branding and marketing really works – I checked! I reviewed many of their case studies and testimonials for my own research as I wanted to be part of a successful business that I could grow with.
  3. They’re just really good human beings! The most important thing for me in my job search was to work with people who were values driven, kind and fun. Rob and David’s values are evident in the work that they do for charity, the mentoring, and their voluntary work for Coventry Pride. When they’re not around, people enthuse about their characters and that’s proof of the real deal! I’ve heard several of Glued’s clients describe them as ‘professional but really fun to work with’; I like to think that’s my style too, so I felt like we were a good match.
  4. This point is probably an extension of the last, but I have found Rob and David to be non-judgmental and positive towards everyone. Supporting me to develop my skills and trusting me to represent their business at a Networking event on just day 2 of working for them! I am sure that if you’ve worked with them, you’ve no doubt experienced their attitude (they’ve worked with big, small, established, start-up, public and private sector!) and positive, problem-solving outlook. Sometimes in the creative industries, ego can get in the way but I think Glued genuinely prioritise the outcome of clients’ projects over their own glory and recognition (they probably will hate this blog) (note from David: I was rather flattered when I read this blog )
  5. I get to work from home and keep my ancient labrador company!

A bit about me..

My career began in branding – specifically licensed merchandise for the entertainment industry, I then moved out of London and worked in a marketing and communications role in ‘(computer) games for learning’. After moving to the Cotswolds and taking a break due to parenthood and the pandemic, I’m looking forward to building a role with Glued supporting Rob and David in a variety of tasks across the business.
